Oh man so get this. I was at a baseball game and I saw real angels helping the team out! Yeah, no joke. Obviously I immediately went to the hospital where they diagnosed me with a massive concussion, turns out I didn’t remember getting hit in the head with a baseball. As a matter of fact I don’t remember a bunch of stuff … do you remember what happened in Angels in the Outfield?

Answers
1) Well, he was left behind because when his mother died his father when to pieces. Now he appears to cruise around on his motorcycle and get odd jobs in like … Alaska. But he does have time to stop buy and tell his son that if the Angels win the pennant they’ll be a fambly again. Fat chance of that right?
2) He was the coach of the Cleveland Indians. And in the movie I recall them merely saying that he had a lot of success but never managed to win the big one. In the trailer it indicates that something happened that got him fired. I think there was probably a bigger thing involving him like … hitting a player or something, but they cut it because you know … he was going to totally Grinch it and adopt those two kids in the end.
3) He doesn’t like cars because he used to live in one. Simple as that. Prior to being a ward of the state he was homeless living in a car with his mother.
4) Magic probably? But in the real world JGL’s friend gets the winning ticket which allows him to go down on the field and get a picture taken with the coach. He’s too scared though, so JGL does it, where he mentions the real life angels he saw. And then when Glover realizes something fishy is going on, he makes the kids the unofficial mascot of the team and they go to every home game from that point on.
5) So, it is a linedrive to the pitcher. So I believe it would be correctly recorded as L1. In Major League the final play is a successful bunt, which would be recorded as 1B with the runner on third moving home. For the record.
Bonus Answer: JGL is all grown up and guess what? Now he’s a … little league coach?! That’s right, we ain’t in the big leagues. Instead JGL coaches a little league team called the Angels. And boy are they hapless, and also in a way JGL himself has lost his way. After his wife passed away (sad stuff) him and his son have been struggling to connect. The team, in fact, is the only real place he gets to interact with him in an honest way. The team sucks though and JGL is really checked out. The kid decides to make a wish, just like his dad did all those years ago, and wishes he could have his old dad back. Welp, here comes the Angels. And all of a sudden the team is winning and JGL is wondering, wait … are the Angels back?! Right at the last second Danny Glover shows up and tells JGL that even though he forgot all those years ago, the angels couldn’t save his wife and neither could he. That when the championship (of life) comes, he has to remember: you take it the last mile. But but but but but (JGL stammers) … Danny Glover? You’ve been dead for years? Are you … an Angel. You best believe kid (wink) oh and your assistant coach over there? Dead in three months. Stabbed to death in bar fight (Jesus, says JGL). Are you telling me that because you want me to contemplate our short time on Earth? No (Danny Glover says) … just thought you would like to know. Anyways, see you later. Happy ending ensues and the fambly is back together with the help of the Angels and the team wins the big ship.
It’s called A2: The Mighty Angels and it is direct to Disney+ next All Star Break.
