Answers

1) He need a new kidney. And obviously he goes to his parents first. He needs a genetic match. But … well, they aren’t his real parents. His real parents are dead, they are his foster parents. Well out of luck I suppose. But what is this? He finds a postcard from a woman who claims her child is his, and the postcard is from like 30 years ago! We are good to go!

2) Maryland! I wonder if this is one of the best Maryland bad films ever. Annapolis comes to mind. Domestic Disturbance and Runaway Bride are also set there it seems.

3) Penny’s step-mother is trying to kill her adoptive father. But don’t worry, Rob Riggle’s twin brother is in special ops and gave them undetectable poison! Phew.

4) Some cupcakes. It was all a ruse you see, a sting operation to reveal that Penny’s step-mother is trying to kill her father. Noice. A fake MacGuffin.

5) It is in El Paso (what an El Paso film!!). And ultimately they reveal that Harry isn’t actually Penny’s father! (Noooooooo). It seems like it is, in actuality, Lloyd. Who’d have thunk it. Or wait … is the twist that Harry doesn’t need a kidney? Or maybe that Lloyd isn’t even the father, it was Pete Stainer? Or that the whole Macguffin thing was a ruse? Man there are a lot of twists in this film.

Bonus Answer: Oh course he fucking did. Almost immediately. He invited me to The Big Screenwriting Conference USA 2024 and I was pretty excited about it. When I got there though I was mistaken for Steven Spielberg (natch) and told I was to judge a Young Screenwriters competition. Garbage! Trash! You suck! By the time I was through with those chumps there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Learn to write! When I came out though Kevin wasn’t anywhere to be seen. Weird. Oh there he is in the corner … with my nemesis! I walk up to confront Kevin. “Hurley McChurly, my nemesis, the most powerful producer in town?! He’s passed on twenty of my scripts, is this some sort of betrayal?” Oh no, Kevin insists. You remember that ploy to steal state tax breaks from our original agency well … that was my plan all along! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And Hurley McChurly is going to make it a reality finally. I wipe a tear from my eye. Never I say, and I tear my shirt open revealing the bug. I knew you’d betray me again Kevin, I knew it. I’m openly weeping at this point as the police come and arrest Kevin. Hurley extends his hand. “Thanks Patrick, I couldn’t have performed this sting without you.” Fuck you I whisper and walk away, my cries ringing off the surrounding glass plinths and shattering my heart.

It is called Betrayal Too: Hurley McChurley’s Girlie Shirley. Oh yeah, the B plot is about Kevin and Shirley falling in love, but that too is just about the sting and has little to do with me.
