The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas Quiz

Well, I did kind of ask about a dinosaur in the last quiz. What are the chances I’ll ask about Las Vegas this time? Let’s go!

Pop Quiz Hot Shot

1) The Song Viva Las Vegas was originally sung by Elvis, but is what his co-star in the film that sung the song on the soundtrack. Who was that actress?

2) Jane Krakowski is one of those people who seem like they are in a ton of random stuff. National Lampoon’s Vacation for example. She introduced a question about Viva Rock Vegas on an episode of Jeopardy! On that she was introduced as Jane Krakowski from BLANK. What television show fills in the blank?

3) Kristen Johnston plays Wilma in the movie. She won two Primetime Emmys for what television series?

4) We’ve almost completed the 2000 Razzie Worst Razzie slate. Battlefield Earth, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, and Little Nicky are three of the four other nominees. The fourth is a romantic comedy called The Next Best Thing starring which singer who is not unfamiliar with Worst Actress nominations?

5) We are now half way through Las Vegas films. The biggest outstanding one stars Elizabeth Berkley. What is that film?

Bonus NYTimes Listing Question: Viva Rock Vegas couldn’t have played on television, but Viva Las Vegas could. It played at 10PM on August 13, 1992. You could have watched this BMT Friend earlier that night:

What is this film?

Answers

1) Ann-Margaret. She’s funny, because I mostly know her from the Grumpy All Men series. She was also in Newsies which is a sneaky-good BMT qualifier. Viva Las Vegas played a not-surprising 55 times on television in the 90s, and Ann-Margaret appeared over 800 times on television as well in various roles.

2) Ally McBeal. Now that is a show that I feel like has completely evaporated from public consciousness. I suppose Calista Flockhart at least can stay in the news by being married to Harrison Ford. Krakowski appeared in over 100 episodes in the show.

3) If you know her from anything it would be for 3rd Rock from the Sun where she played Sally and won two Emmys. Well … that and playing Ivana Humpalot in Austin Powers. But mostly it is 3rd Rock.

4) That would be Madonna. And I wasn’t kidding. She’s been nominated or won for nine separate films (most famously for Swept Away). Man, what a slate though, remember when The Razzies meant something?

5) Showgirls, of course. There really aren’t any others I’m super keen on after that. The next highest BMeTric is Hangover 3, which I’ve already seen and also is no fun and sucks. So there is that.

Bonus NYTimes Listing Answer: That would be Arena. It is a classic for a reason. Amazingly, it is by far Paul Satterfield’s biggest film playing on television. He is only in one BMT qualifier, Creepshow 2.

Wait … should I have made this a Creepshow 2 quiz?
