Pop Quiz Hot Shot!
1) Brandon Lee and Bill Skarsgård played The Crow on the big screen, but Mark Dacascos played him on television in The Crow: Stairway to Heaven. He’s been in three BMT films, Cradle 2 the Grave, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and what video game adaptation as Jimmy Lee?
2) The film stars UK musician FKA twigs. What does FKA stand for?
3) A song by Enya is on the soundtrack that is named for a queen of the ancient British Iceni tribe who led an uprising against the conquering Romans around AD 60. What is this queen’s name?

5) The Crow was nominated for two Razzie awards, but the most surprising was that it didn’t win for Worst Remake, Rip-off, or Sequel. Which (future BMT) film ultimately won that crown?

Answers
1) That would be Double Dragon, alongside Scott Wolf. There have been nine Double Dragon games, including a tie-in game for the Neo Geo of all things. Fun fact: the game called Double Dragon IV came out after the game called Double Dragon V. The original Double Dragon IV was Super Double Dragon for the SNES.
2) Nothing. Well, you see, people thought it stood for Formerly Known As which would make sense, formerly known as twigs. But she claims that it is just a collection of letters and thus is meaningless. That is a very guessable quiz question.
3) You better believe that is Boadicea. In the Amazon Prime television series Last One Laughing UK, Richard Ayoade claims “Boodika” as his celebrity crush which leads to an extended discussion on both the pronunciation of this person’s name and also her achievements in British history.
4) That would be a Nutcracker. The Nutcracker comes from the German Ore Mountain region and is meant to ward off spirits. Indeed, for that reason they became a common gift in the Christmas season. The Ore Mountains are the region that separates Germany from modern Czechia.
5) That would be Joker: Folie à Deux. Honestly, that somehow makes sense. While The Crow was by far the worst remake (ever?), Joker 2 (as a sequel) might outdo it as it took a surefire billion dollar film and just utterly destroyed it creating one of the biggest bombs in history. That is something.
Bonus NYTimes Listing Answer: That would be Murder in the First. Which, indeed, has quite good acting, but then is kind of a weird film because I feel like it has been completely forgotten as far as 90s courtroom dramas are concerned.
Weeeeeell, it did play 28 times in the late 90s. I suppose that is how I knew it as well. It was all over HBO in the later 90s.
