Oh man, so get this. I was at singing camp. Again. Everyone loves my voice. But I was pretty saddo about my dead brother, so I did pack my bags (again) and leave the school (again). Or I planned to, but my suitcase fell off my dresser and bopped me right on the head! So I can’t remember a thing. Do you remember what happened in Raise Your Voice?

1) A car crash. But more importantly it appears to be on a stroad, which is very dangerous. But even more importantly I’m pretty sure the accident was impossible logistically, so I’m adding that to the goofs section of IMDb for sure.
2) The fambly restaurant of course. But obviously no one wants that shit. Small business owners just struggle, and restaurants more than any other one. That’s the sequel BTW. When Duff’s singing career peters out we revisit Duff as her family business crumbles due to eeeeevil real estate developers. I don’t know what happens after that, but it would be a tear jerker.
3) She’s going to hang out with her aunt (Rebecca De Mornay) in Palm Desert for the summer, she says (and I guess help with her art?). But nope, she’s off to get mugged in L.A., hooray!
4) Jay is a British singer and guitarist. Kiwi is a DJ basically. Denise plays the violin (both in camp and on the streets). And Sloane plays the piano. They are a regular band!
5) Denise does. And it is a good thing. She really needed the money. She explained it all in such a way that you knew that the only way the film was going to end was with Denise winning.

You are now running the L.A. School For Amazing Singers. And yeah, you have some baggage, you were an international singing sensation, but much like Coach Bombay you lost your way, you thought singing was all about winning, and now you have to give back to your community (in a court mandated way). And what better way than with talented young people. But what’s this, the school is in disarray, and let’s just say the crop of students leave … something to be desired. What happened? As John Corbett explains there is a new school in town and it is sucking up all the talent in L.A.! Who’s running that? Haylie Duff (yeah we’re getting her!). Well, what better way to get back on track than to challenge the Really Good School for Really Good Singers to a singing battle at the end of the summer.
